Got this as a wedding gift and have used it twice so far (for rice). The rice has come out great both times! I was used to making [and screwing up] rice in those traditional glass-lid cookers. Obviously, I don't have a talent for the skill. This cooker does the job just right. I'm looking forward to making bread with it as well, so that'll be the next project for the wifey. My only complaint is that they don't make one of these in a larger capacity (i.e. 5 cups+)!
This is a pretty premature review considering we've only used the cooker twice so far, so hopefully it doesn't go dying on us! *knocks on wood*

I love this rice cooker. It really does make the best rice I have ever had. I make white rice mostly, and it always comes out all fluffy and perfectly moist. The pot's thickness is really surprising, feels like a cast-iron pot covered in titanium! (yes, the non-stick coating is some mix of titanium instead of teflon)

Originally purchased the Cuisinart Rice cooker/steamer and did not like the results. Bought this one on a friends recommendation and am very pleased. Rice comes out great, quality feels top notch.

Brown Rice in a rice cooker?
Does anyone have a reliable way of cooking brown rice in a rice cooker that doesn't leave a layer of burned rice on the bottom? We have tried the instructions in the book: 1 cup rice to 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons water. We've also tried increasing the water and soaking the rice for 15 minutes before turning on the cooker.
I have an Oster automatic rice cooker, and it does great on white rice, but I really prefer the taste of brown.
