Excellent Things to Cook on Your New Weber Grill
The Classics
Practically nearly every single meat, sausage, fish and vegetable would taste great on the grill assuming that you know the proper way of cooking it and other items concerning it. The most popular products would of course be steaks and other large cuts of meat on the grill, so well-liked that an al fresco grill session with the loved ones is not total without having some slices of meat or a rack of ribs. These products, because of what they are can be called as the classics.
These are ideal direct grilled, smoked or seared based on what you want to create. For much better tastes, you can also coat them with barbecue sauce of which would come in many possibilities. If you are familiar to the standard tomato dependent barbecue sauce, you have to unwind and get to know a lot more options that would taste just as as excellent. For barbecues nowadays, sauces can be produced out of apples, strawberries, honey, mustard and basically anything that goes properly with grilled food.
Poultry
One more favorite item to be grilled is poultry, no matter what type it is. Chicken is excellent and is also a classic when barbecued in great sauce. Grilling is in reality one of the greatest and most well-liked methods to prepare chicken. As for turkey and duck, they can also be grilled exactly as chicken is on the other hand, smoking them with seasoned wood chips could give you a quite unique and pleasant flavor.
Grilling poultry on the grill does not only make it taste better but also is a healthier way to cook it if you do it properly and by that, you must not have poultry overcooked or until finally the surface starts cracking. To examine if it is cooked nicely, prick a single side of it utilizing a fork and see if juices seep out. You will be in a position to see if it is cooked nicely from there on.
Seafood And Fish
Because of the wonderful tastes you can produce with it on the grill, fish have turned out to be a good deal more popular on the grill. The most well-liked of these is fish whether it is fillet, whole, firm or tender fish. You can either cook these up in your grill seasoned or unseasoned because it naturally has a pleasing taste, although you can add some lemon, herbs and additional seasoning with it in a fish grill basket to have the flavors seep deep into the fish and helping it flavor great.
Whilst fish is well-liked, other shellfish such as shells, squid, octopus and other seafood are also great on the grill. These go well especially if you also serve fish along with them. The ideal way of cooking shells is put them on top of the grill until they open up. As for squid and octopus, make certain they are not overcooked as they can get tough or very chewy. Cooking them properly on the other side would have a distinctive texture and a really good juicy taste.
Greens
To compliment all the different meats you will be having on the grill, it would be a great concept to have some veggies along with them. Fruit and vegetables like peppers, zucchini, asparagus and large tomatoes would taste excellent on the grill when marinated with oil, vinegar of your preference and some spices. Grilling them is a distinct method to them because they would taste significantly different from other methods of preparing them.
About the Author
I cannot get my Weber grill going. Can you give me tips?
How much charcoal and how much lighter fuel do I use. How long do I let the coals burn before I slap the wings on?
What kind of charcoal and lighter fluid?
My grill is a black weber with a grid in the bottom and some kind of metal pan under there and a big round black lid.
Hope that helps you to help me figure this thing out.
Believe it or not....I am in a contest for chicken wings. They must have been desperate to ask me to participate.
I don't like to use lighter fluid. I don't like the taste of gasoline. You can light the coals 1 of 2 ways. Use an electric starter. (Pour the coals into the grill, put the starter into the coals, and plug it in. When some coals start, remove the starter and unplug it. Pile the coals on top of the ones that are going.) Or you can use a chimney. It's a device That looks like a coffee can with a handle. (Lightly crumple 5 to 6 sheets of old newspaper and arrange on the bottom of the grill. Put the chimney over the newspaper. Fill the chimney with coals, and light the newspaper.) In either case let the coals go until they are covered with gray ash. Spread the coals out, put the cooking grill in, and put your food on the grill.
How much coals to use? Pour some coals into the grill until you have a single layer covering the fire grate.

I just went back and reread your question. Your comment "some kind of metal pan under...." has me concerned. Does your grill look like this?

Weber Grills- Have Fun With It TV Commercial (30 sec spot)-Version #1
Good time, big prizes in barbecue contests
Rob Berquist II was taking on his son in a friendly little rib cook-off at a church-sponsored picnic in Portage. The early June day smelled like Americana as smoke seeped from a grill that cradled spareribs which were being barbecued with the help of wood chips that had been soaked in water. "That's what gives it the smoke flavor," noted dad, who was devoting a few hours on a Saturday to the ...
